Due to the tremendous demand for the ACT High School CPR Program in Ontario, in December 2004 Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty announced the province will provide $650,000 to support full program implementation. Upon full implementation, 155,000 Ontario Grade 9 students will be trained by their high school teachers in the lifesaving skill of CPR every year.

To date, the ACT Foundation has fundraised for mannequins to bring the program to half of Ontario high schools. The Ontario government’s funding commitment provides half the remaining funds needed to expand the ACT High School CPR Program to all Ontario high schools through a public-private matching funding model. The Foundation is now seeking matching funding at the community level.

The ACT High School CPR Program receives support at the provincial level from Hydro One, Shoppers Drug Mart and The Ontario Trillium Foundation.

ACT's aim is to see every Canadian teenager graduate from high school with CPR skills and knowledge to save lives. ACT is spearheading high school CPR programs in communities across Canada.
